Another Earth Day has come and gone, and with it the reminder that we need to take better care of our home. Each year on April 22nd<\/sup>, people around the world take a good look at the state that the planet is in, and are reminded that human action is the only way to undo all the wrongs that we have committed. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dissatisfied with the results of the Paris Agreement and not seeing tangible results from international governments, civilians come together on Earth Day to demand that better action be taken to protect the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This video<\/a> does an amazing job in summing up the history of Earth Day, its achievements, and its importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another video<\/a>, Jane Goodall, known for her extensive research on chimpanzees in Tanzania, describes the harm that us humans have inflicted on the planet and the repercussions that we are now facing as a result of our actions. Ending the video on a hopeful note, she paints a picture of a better future where we can live in harmony with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While dedicating one day each year to paying special attention to the planet is very important, we must not forget about it in the following 364 days. Keeping the ambition and enthusiasm seen on Earth Day alive throughout the year shows others that we are keeping an eye on the state of our environment and on what world leaders are up to.
