Just over half were between the ages of 40 and 64, a quarter were younger than 40, and the remainder were 65 years old or older. 71% were female, and 29% were male.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2010, the number of diagnosed cases of MCS in Qu\u00e9bec were 179,000. In Canada, there was a 34% increase between 2005 and 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quebecers with MCS showed a higher than normal degree of activity limitation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-background has-fixed-layout\" style=\"background-color:#e9fbe5\"><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">% of group reporting<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Quebecers with MCS<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Quebecers in General<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Need help &#8211; This medical condition has a significant impact on the lives of MCS sufferers.
